Content Marketing Is a Big Deal! In the Social Media Era, They're Not Just Selling Drinks and Cameras!

In the days before the internet and social media were so developed, television still dominated in influence. If you had a product or service you wanted consumers to know about, you would probably bring in an advertising agency or a director and scriptwriter to discuss how to shoot an attractive, creative commercial and then put it on television. Those with bigger budgets would air it heavily, and if everything went well, it could often boost consumers' willingness to buy.
But in today's social media environment, TV advertising can hardly reach consumers who are bombarded with all kinds of information every day. The time our eyes spend on the television has long since been completely divided up by computers, tablets and mobile phones.
As a result, unlike the traditional TVC (television commercial), which may be 15 or 30 seconds long, "short films" of 3 to 5 minutes, or even 15 minutes, have begun to appear. Some people also call them "micro films". These are often content with an advertising purpose, and have in turn formed the trend of "Content Marketing".
Simply put, it means telling a story for your product or service, and within content marketing, video content is the most effective at attracting clicks and views.
Just scroll through your own Facebook feed and it is not hard to see that all kinds of companies, from a small studio run by an individual interior designer to Taiwan's major financial and banking companies, almost all use short films or micro films to promote their services and products.
