Well-known local time-lapse photographer Francis So (franso) has won another award! Francis made his name with time-lapse films of natural landscapes, and has previously won 7 different awards for them. This time, his new 2-minute-45-second work, Endless, has won the Gold Award in the Short Film category of the 2nd Advanced Moving Image Association (AMia) awards. Interestingly, this is the first time Francis has added a “narrative element” to his work. The theme is “the longest working hours”: a hyperlapse of both sides of Victoria Harbour where the working day never seems to end, which makes the dazzling urban time-lapse footage even more meaningful.
// Director’s statement: Hong Kong has become the “city with the longest working hours in the world” thanks to endless work. No matter how efficient you are, it never ends. Can you be proud of this “title”? The film is shot with Timelapse and Hyperlapse techniques to convey the fast pace of life in Hong Kong, where office workers have no time even to relax. //
