Leica TL2 Camera Unveiled with 4K Video Support

Leica yesterday announced the official launch of the Leica TL2, a new digital camera in its T series. Its predecessor was known for flexibility and ease of use. The TL2 keeps the same light, compact body design, but despite its small size it is fully equipped, and this time it also supports 4K video recording, so its performance should not be underestimated.
The Leica TL2 uses a newly upgraded 24-megapixel APS-C sensor and the new Maestro II series high-performance image processor. Autofocus speed and accuracy are greatly improved, with a focusing time of about 165 milliseconds, three times faster than the previous model, and start-up time is also shorter. It also has an electronic shutter with speeds of up to 1/40,000 second, and the continuous shooting rate increases from 7 frames per second to 20.
Video quality has also been enhanced, with a range of recording modes, such as 4K (3,840×2,160, 30fps), Full HD (1,980×1,080, 60fps) and HD (1,280×720, 60fps). In terms of lens support, the TL system currently has six lenses, three prime lenses and three zoom lenses, delivering excellent image quality for both near and distant subjects. Most importantly, the TL and SL systems both use the L mount, so the TL2 can also mount SL system lenses without an adapter, giving it very high compatibility. With an adapter, lenses from the M and R systems can also be used.
Through the wireless module and the mobile hotspot function, users can upload photos and videos from the Leica TL2 to different devices and social platforms, or transfer them via the HDMI and USB 3.0 interfaces. When no battery charger is available, users can also charge the camera through the USB interface by connecting an external mobile power source such as a laptop. The Leica TL2 also features a 3.7-inch touchscreen, which not only provides reliable exposure metering but also simulates the actual image effectively, with a response speed eight times that of previous cameras.
The Leica TL2 is available in silver and black, with a light and stylish body. Accessories include a protective case made of Nappa leather that does not need to be removed when changing the battery, as well as camera straps in lime, black, red, yellow and light grey, so users can match them with their outfits.
